2025 Zap World Championship of Skimboarding

Dewey Beach, DE, July 15, 2025 - The 2025 Zap World Championships of Skimboarding is set
to take place from August 8th through 10th in Dewey Beach, Delaware as stop 4 on the United
Skim Tour (UST), the world’s premier professional skimboarding contest circuit. In its 43rd year,
the Zap World Championships is the fourth of six stops on the 2025 UST circuit for the Pro Men
division and the second of four stops for the Pro Women division. The event will draw an
international field of competitors with a $10,000 pro prize purse.
Event attendees include four-time men’s UST champion Lucas Fink from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
2021 UST champion Gerardo Valencia from Barra de Navidad, Mexico, Dane Cameron and
Timmy Gamboa from Laguna Beach, California. On the women's side, Two-Time UST
Champion Chabe White will be in attendance (injured), Julia Dias from Ubatuba, Brazil and local
favorites Sydney Pizza and Alex Yokely, both from Dewey Beach, Delaware.
As part of the Skim USA Tour, the contest also features amateur divisions for both men and
women. For the amateur men, divisions include Minis (8 and under), Menehunes (9-11), Boys
(12-14), Junior Men (15-17), Men (18-21), Senior Men (22-24), Masters (25-29), Grandmasters
(30-39), Senior Grandmasters (40-49) and Legends (50 and older). For the amateur women,
divisions include Mini Girls (8 & under) Girls (9-11), Junior Women (12-14) and Women (15 and
older). A semi-professional division also enables all amateur riders to compete against one
another without age restrictions.
The event will start at 8 am on each day and run until about 4 pm each day, from Friday the 8th
through Sunday the 10th. The professionals will run during the best window for quality waves,
which may change depending on the conditions throughout the weekend.
