In 1778, Abraham Hargis, a Captain Lieutenant with the Pennsylvania 10th Regiment, sent a letter to General George Washington asking to resign his commission and return home. Hargis found his way to Delaware and was appointed as Keeper of the Cape Henlopen Light from 1784-1813.
Bill Hicks, the Historic Campus Coordinator and Lead Interpreter for the Lewes Historical Society, will appear at the Rehoboth Beach Museum in costume as Abraham Hargis.
