SUMMARY:Amish Outlaws
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:“In a very short time\, this band has captured the hearts\, m
inds\, and\nbutter churners of the masses with their hilarious onstage\npe
rformances of everything from Bon Jovi to Snoop & Dre.” – Night\n& Day
It is a little-known fact that most Amish practice a tradition\nsimilar to
the Christian “Confirmation” and Jewish “Bar\nMitzvah” called “
Rumspringa” (literal translation: “running\naround”) in which Amish
children at the age of 16 have an\nopportunity to live free of the strict
Amish code of conduct before\ndeciding if they want to come back and be ba
ptized into the Amish\nchurch. Surprisingly\, virtually all of the youths
return. But\nsometimes they don’t. Four out of the original six members
of The\nAmish Outlaws were born and raised in Lancaster\, PA and had a str
ict\nAmish upbringing. No electricity from land lines\, no alcohol\, no\nm
usical instruments\, but their spirits were too wild for the Amish\nlifest
yle. Once they trampled in the Devil’s Playground\, there was\nno turnin
g back. In the years since Rumspringa\, the members of the\nAmish Outlaws
have become very well acclimated to the pleasures and\nvices of the modern
  world… music\, most of all. Thus\, with a bold\nlust for life and a fir
e for music and performance that can only come\nfrom 16 years of repressio
n\, The Amish Outlaws were unleashed upon the\nworld. Venue: Milton Theatr
