Charles Lindbergh: Hero or Villain?

The American History Series continues Saturday, October 10, 1:00 pm, with a program about Charles Lindbergh and his controversial role in American history. Presented by award winning Polytech High School educator Emily Green, the program will take place at the Milford Public Library in Milford, Delaware. A national icon was born in 1927 when Charles Lindbergh became the first person in the world to successfully fly a plane across the Atlantic Ocean from North America to Europe. While Lindbergh will always be remembered for this heroic aviation feat, his later political activities in demonstrating support for Nazi Germany in the pre-World War II years have resulted in historians and the public to re-evaluate their opinion of this controversial American. Emily Green will examine Lindbergh’s life and how he used his celebrity to influence the nation’s thinking about its role on the world stage. Venue: Milford Public Library.
