 imberly and Michelle began performing professionally as\nThe Cann Duo in 2
 010 and since then\, they have toured extensively\nthroughout the US. Thei
 r electrifying performances and engaging\noutreach programs are all the mo
 re meaningful due to the unmistakable\nsound of their lifelong hereditary 
 connection. ​Kimberly Cann West\nIndian-American Kimberly Cann has been 
 immersed in the world of music\nperformance\, outreach\, & education since
  childhood. Following her\ndebut at 13 as an orchestral soloist\, she cont
 inued her studies (Van\nCliburn Institute\; MM\, Eastman School of Music) 
 and has since served\nas a guest artist\, speaker\, clinician\, & visiting
  professor both in\nthe US and abroad. Together with her spouse\, Aaron Br
 own\, she oversees\nan award-winning set of teaching studios\, Piano Lab &
  Music Lab. This\nseason\, they will open The Asheville Conservatory of th
 e Arts poised\nto serve over seven hundred students. Kimberly has served o
 n the\nboards of the Asheville Symphony\, Asheville Area Piano Forum\, and
 \nothers. In 2011\, she founded \"Keys for Kidz\,\" partnering with local\
 nnonprofits to provide group piano classes for underserved children in\nth
 e community. While overseeing the management of her studios\, she\nalso ma
 intains a busy schedule of outreach & performance. Kimberly\nrecently perf
 ormed and led panel discussions at the National\nConference of Music Teach
 ers in Reno\, Nevada\, which centered around\n\"Creating the Next Generati
 on of Concert Pianists.\" ​Michelle Cann\nLauded as “exquisite” by T
 he Philadelphia Inquirer and “a\npianist of sterling artistry” by Gram
 ophone\, Michelle Cann has\nbecome one of the most sought-after pianists o
 f her generation. She\nmade her debut in 2021 with The Philadelphia Orches
 tra and has\nrecently performed concertos with The Cleveland Orchestra\, t
 he\nNational Symphony Orchestra\, the Orquestra Sinfônica Municipal de\nS
 ão Paulo\, the Los Angeles Philharmonic\, and the symphony orchestras\nof
  Atlanta\, Baltimore\, and Cincinnati. Highlights of Cann’s 2023-24\nsea
 son included appearances with the Charlotte\, Hawaii\, Indianapolis\,\nQu
 ébec\, Sarasota\, and Winnipeg symphony orchestras\, and recitals in\nNew
  York City\, Portland\, Berkeley\, Beverly Hills\, and Denver.\nRecognized
  as a leading interpreter of the piano music of Florence\nPrice\, Cann per
 formed the New York City premiere of Price’s Piano\nConcerto in One Move
 ment with The Dream Unfinished Orchestra in July\n2016. Her recording of t
 he concerto with the New York Youth Symphony\nwon a Grammy Award in 2023. 
 Her acclaimed debut solo album Revival\,\nfeaturing music by Price and Mar
 garet Bonds\, was released in May 2023.\nCann was the recipient of the 202
 2 Sphinx Medal of Excellence\, the\nhighest honor bestowed by the Sphinx O
 rganization. She holds\nbachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano perfo
 rmance from the\nCleveland Institute of Music and an Artist’s Diploma fr
 om the Curtis\nInstitute of Music. Cann joined the Curtis piano faculty in
  2020 as\nthe inaugural Eleanor Sokoloff Chair in Piano Studies\, and she
