She\nholds an MFA in Fashion Design from Moore Colle ge of Art and completed\na year of graduate study in Painting and Sculptur e. After working in\nfashion for four years\, Linda returned to art full-t ime. Linda’s\nthree-dimensional fiber creations are comprised of differe nt forms of\nenergy\, movement\, and colors to replicate that found in nat ure. Layers\nof poured fluid paint and various mark-making techniques crea te depth\nand intrigue. Her work encourages viewers to reflect on their\nr elationship with nature\, inspiring them to learn more or deepen their\nex isting connection. Paul Daniel is a kinetic sculptor based in\nBaltimore\, MD. He received an MFA from the Rinehart School of\nSculpture\, Maryland Institute College of Art\, and has received a\nnumber of awards for his wo rk. Nature plays a part in Daniel’s work\,\nas the final step in bringin g each sculpture to life is a gust of wind\nthat puts the piece into motio n. His style combines industrial\nmaterials and scientific design with org anic whimsy and pops of color.\nWhile he is known for his larger-than-life work\, Paul is including\nmore compact pieces in this show. Despite their smaller size\, these\nstudies also dance and spin with wind pressure as s een with his\noutdoor exhibits.  Karen Delaney has been a sculptor for th irty-four\nyears exhibiting in galleries and group shows nationally and\ni nternationally. Her works are in private collections and in several\npubli c institutions\, including a permanent 13-foot-tall sculpture on\nthe Danu be River in Hungary. Karen’s sculptural figures in\n“Cutting Edge”  are inspired by two things: ancient monoliths and\ngrange circles\, as wel l as the bird life found on the Chesapeake Bay.\nLike many of the megalith ic structures situated around the world\, her\npieces are four-sided\, una dorned\, and rise swiftly from ground to top.\nAs sculptural forms\, they make a uniform and direct statement that is\nboth dynamic and primitive.  Though her sculptures are not realistic\nportrayals of birds\, they embody a bird’s postures and gestures when\nthey interact as a flock. For 15 y ears\, Lisa Katharina taught art in\nthe classroom and at The Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Barnes\nFoundation. She worked at The PMA as a Muse um Educator and a\nFacilitator in the museum’s Teacher Resource Center\, where she\nassisted classroom teachers with incorporating art into curric ulum\ndevelopment across diverse subject areas. For this exhibition\, Lisa \ncreated abstract artworks that embrace a coastal color palette and\nutil ize a soak-stain technique. Drawing with the edge of a broken\nscallop she ll\, or a dipping pen\, she added rearranged calligraphic\nlines and shape s\, some created by outlining keepsake pebbles and large\nstones from her own collection of beach treasures. Saurabh Oza is an\naward-winning artist based in suburban Philadelphia. The love\, energy\,\nand sense of communi ty he experienced growing up in urban India helped\nhim appreciate beauty in often overlooked places\, which he seeks to\nrecreate through his paint ings. Bold colors serve as both accent and\natmosphere in Saurabh’s work \, and the geometric character of his\nimages produces a feeling of wonder and contemplation. While his\npieces have a striking similarity to each o ther\, it’s in the fine\ndetail and close observations that you find the uniqueness of each\nscene.  Sherri Trial has been a lettering artist for over 30 years\nand has exhibited extensively around the US\, as well as i n New\nZealand\, Moscow\, and Tokyo. She is largely self-taught\, with onl y a\nfew workshops taken that have guided her through her career.\nSherri ’s work combines poetry and visual art\, bringing words to life\nthrough evoking imagery. Her pieces create a mood from a single\nthought. Shapes\ , colors\, designs\, and images weave through our\nlanguages\, and her goa l is to interpret and bring the elements\ntogether.  “Cutting Edge” i s on display from August 31st to\nSeptember 29th.
