DESCRIPTION:The Rehoboth Art League is one of only a few actively collectin
 g art\ninstitutions in Delaware. The collection contains over 1000 items\,
 \nwhich include works of art in various media\; colonial furniture\;\narti
 facts and decorative art collected by the Corkran’s when they\nresided i
 n the Homestead\, as well as an array of RAL’s\norganizational archives.
  The collection maintains a focus on mid-20th\ncentury works of art create
 d by notable artists such as Ethel P.B.\nLeach\, William Leach\, Orville P
 eets\, Jack Lewis\, Howard Pyle\, Edward\nGrant and Howard Schroeder\, to 
 name a few. As part of our exhibition\nseason\, we are excited to share ma
 ny of these works\, some which have\nnever been seen\, to the public with 
 these special “themed”\nshowcases curated by members of the Collection
 s Committee. Doors of\nFame No tangible object more vividly traces the his
 tory of the arts in\nthe Rehoboth Beach community than the Doors of Fame a
 nd in the\ntradition of signing them at the Rehoboth Art League. For over 
 85\nyears\, these doors have been a valuable historical resource. The more
 \nthan 285 signers are recognized as part of the pantheon of artists\,\ncr
 eative people\, local townspeople\, notable citizens closely\nidentified w
 ith the League\, the mid-Atlantic region and the state of\nDelaware. The D
 oors of Fame stand as a lasting legacy of the history\nof the Rehoboth Art
  League. The three Doors of Fame are on display in\nthe Homestead now thro
 ugh October 31. Venue: Rehoboth Art League.
