DESCRIPTION:“My life is now truly in the melting pot stage where all my\n
 experiences\, new and old\, physical and mental\, analytical and\nintuitiv
 e\, mundane\, and spiritual\, are coming together in a savory\nstew meldin
g me into a mindful whole. Fiber is the medium in which I\nam working with
to fine-tune my life. The joy in weaving allows me to\nexplore color rela
tionships\, whether bold contrasts or tone-on-tone\,\nshadings that test t
he edge of visual perception. In my work\, I am\ninterested in the connect
ions between self\, emotion\, seasons\,\natmospheres\, and the time of day
. My inspirations include the natural\nelements and the materials themselv
es\, while the patterns of landforms\nand the atmospheric elements\, plays
a key role in color and mood\nexpressed. In my work\, I am interested in
the connections between\nself\, emotion\, and time. I am intrigued by the
seasons\, atmospheres\,\nand the time of day. I try to recreate these natu
ral occurrences\,\nevoking emotions that I associate with the use of color
\, line\,\ntextures\, and tones. The lines suggest landscapes or other asp
ects of\nnature. These techniques are very contemplative\, encouraging\,\n
introspective and are constantly evolving with explorations in\nreflection
 \, geometric design\, delicate color tones\, and bold\ncontemporary patter
ns\, woven into cylindrical ridges resulting in a\nthree-dimensional textu
re on the woven surface. Other innovations I\nadd are the spontaneous and
free methods of coiled fibers. These works\nare essentially visual\, inste
ad of representational\, as I look for\nimages and colors that transform a
nd represent things that make me\nfree. Such feelings become more importan
t as I continue to work with\nfibers and pigment. Finally\, I cherish aest
hetically appealing\nmaterial effects and try to create works that use a s
pecific process\nto provoke an experience. It is the pleasure of experimen
tation that\nis the actual experience of feeling the tactile and the joy o
f colors\nending against the back of our eyes. Such feelings become more\n
important as I continue to work with fibers.” Venue: Rehoboth Art\nLeagu
