God’s Country is a riveting thriller and modern day western about a reclusive woman who moves to a rural town. God’s Country is based on the short story Winter Light by acclaimed author James Lee Burke and also stars Jefferson White and Tanaya Beatty of the Yellowstone series. [2022, USA, 103 min, R: Not Rated] Christopher Cross of Tilt Magazine says, “Chock-full of everyday prejudices and an unwavering tension, Higgins film is a bleak, thoughtful, and unnerving thriller that punches up with a ferocious determination.” Brent Hankins of The Lamplight Review pens, “God's Country is a haunting and remarkably grim affair, and among the very best of this year's Sundance selections.” Venue: Cinema Art Theater. Presenter: Rehoboth Beach Film Society.
