Sep 12, 2026

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – The Rehoboth Art League’s third annual Native Plant Sale will take place Saturday, September 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing an opportunity for horticulture enthusiasts to learn about local plants, the benefits of planting native species, and the beauty of garden designs. The event, held at the Art League’s campus at 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres, will feature insight and information from ten local gardening-focused organizations and guided tours of the meticulously maintained gardens and grounds of the campus.

Nursery partners Bella Terra and Inland Bays Garden Center will each be on site with a selection of native plants for sale. Additional information tables will be staffed by experts from the Delaware Botanic Gardens, Delaware Invasive Species Council, Delaware Naturally (DE Native Species Commission), Delaware Master Naturalists, Mt. Cuba Center, Sussex County Master Gardeners, and Sussex Gardeners, as well as the Art League’s Homestead Gardeners. Each table will be equipped with information on the importance of planting native species, as well as tips for home gardeners and ways to get involved and learn more about horticulture in Sussex County.

Art League volunteers will lead tours of the historic Homestead Gardens at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., highlighting the gardens designed by Art League founder Louise Corkran in 1931 and maintained to stay true to their original colonial revival design. At noon, a Delaware Master Naturalist will lead a Keystone Tree Walk, showcasing native trees found around the 3.5-acre wooded campus and discussing the benefits of the local species.
