DESCRIPTION:Join us for an incredible performance honoring the traditions o
 f\nNative American and Indigenous peoples. The Nanticoke Indian Dance\nTro
 upe presents a traditional cultural sharing\, highlighting Native\nAmerica
 n dances\, their cultural meaning\, and the importance of oral\ntradition.
  The dances reflect values such as respect\, honor\,\ncommunity\, and our 
 connection to the Creator\, the earth\, and one\nanother. Storytelling is 
 woven throughout the presentation\, helping\nthe audience understand how d
 ance carries memory\, identity\, and\ntradition. The Troupe consists of Na
 tive American Dancers of all ages\,\nwho proudly demonstrate their individ
 ual dance styles\, sharing with\nthe audience the importance of the differ
 ent styles\, along with\ntraditional ways. This program is part of Lewes 2
 50\, a commemoration\nof America’s 250th anniversary\, honoring our town
 ’s rich past and\nbright future. Lewes 250 brings neighbors\, visitors\,
  and local\norganizations together in celebration of the “First Town in 
 the\nFirst State.” New this year: No registration required! First come\,
 \nfirst seated. Open seating under and around the pavilion\, and on the\ng
 rass. Plenty of room for all! Guests are welcome to bring their own\nlawn 
 chairs or blankets\, or borrow one of the library’s folding\nchairs. Not
 e: To help maintain clear sightlines for all\, guests with\nhigher-backed 
 chairs are kindly asked to sit toward the back of the\npavilion. Picnics a
 re welcome! In case of inclement weather\, the\nperformance will be in the
  large meeting room of the library. That\ndecision will be made by 1:00 PM
  the day of the scheduled event and\nposted on the library’s website and
  social media (Facebook and\nInstagram). Seating in the large meeting room
  will be first-come\,\nfirst seated in chairs we will provide. Thank you t
