SUMMARY:\"The Center Cannot Hold\" - Artwork by Kim Klabe - Inspired by Wil
 liam Butler Yeats
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:During my time in college\, I majored in Art and minored in Eng
lish -\ntwo fields that satisfied both my passion for visual creation and
my\ndeep love of literature and poetry. Among the many poets I studied\,\n
William Butler Yeats stood out. His work made a lasting impression on\nme.
Yeats' poetry is rich with symbolism and layered themes - bird\nimagery\,
mysticism\, spiritualism\, war\, love and nature. Many of his\nlines feel
hauntingly relevant today\, despite having been written in\nthe late 19th
and early 20th centuries. In this body of work\, Kim\nallowed herself to
deeply explore the emotional weight of Yeats'\npoetry\, letting it move th
rough her and shape the visual expression\nthat emerged. Kim is an artist
from Rehoboth Beach Delaware who works\nin mixed media. She has shown as a
solo artist as well as within group\nshows and has been the recipient of
awards with the United States and\nCanada for her artwork. Venue: Gallery
 50.
