  display\nMorgan Thomas Shankweiler’s body of work from 2020-2022. Worki
 ng\npredominantly in painting\, drawing and other 2-D presentations\,\nSha
 nkweiler focuses a sociologist’s gaze on the ways that humans\nconnect w
 ith each other within families\, across divides\, and through\nsocietal an
 d institutional systems using rope\, net and knots as\nmetaphor for intera
 ctions. The works range from finely detailed\nmeditative drawings to data 
 visualization to modular installations.\nAdditionally\, newest work will o
 ffer the visitors to the space the\nopportunity to interact directly with 
 a piece within given parameters\nto create a collaborative “net\"work 
 representative of the\ncommunity.Â Â  Morgan splits her time between P
 hiladelphia\, PA and\nthe coast of Maine. She graduated with sociology and
  studio art majors\nfrom Williams College and studied miniature painting i
 n Jaipur\, India.\nHer background in sociology informs her work\, which ex
 amines\ncommunity\, relationships and the commonalities of human experienc
 e\nthrough metaphoric and aleatoric paintings and interactive\ninstallatio
 ns. Using common linkable units as a visual equalizer\,\nShankweiler utili
 zes the language of game-play to communicate the\nconcepts and data-inform
 ed confines of a social system. Shankweiler\nhas been awarded residencies 
 at the Ellis-Beauregard Foundation\, SVA\,\nPenland School of Craft and Da
  Vinci Art Alliance and also works as a\nportrait painter for MuralArts Ph
 iladelphia. Her award-winning work\nhas been featured\, exhibited and coll
