 o make appearances. The finely crafted pieces in\n“Traveling Palette” 
 will have you reminiscing about your own\nadventures and give you the itch
  to start planning your next trip. \nAn artist reception will be held on 
 Saturday\, May 3\, from 5:00 to 6:30\npm\, which is free and open to the p
 ublic. Meet some of the exhibiting\nartists and enjoy an evening of fine a
 rt and complimentary food and\ndrink. Rosemary Connelly is a water media a
 rtist living and working in\nMilford\, Delaware. She has shown her work at
  the Biggs Museum\, the\nRehoboth Art League\, Nassau Valley Vineyards\, a
 nd more. Playful use of\nline and color are hallmarks of her artistic styl
 e. Her layered\napproach to painting suggests the passage of time and huma
 n existence\,\nand she finds inspiration in historic towns\, aging factori
 es and\nbarns\, botanicals\, and the beauty she finds in her travels. Rose
 mary\nis sharing paintings from her European sketchbook for \"Traveling\nP
 alette.\" These whimsical watercolor landscapes show scenes from\nGermany\
 , Switzerland\, Liechtenstein\, and Italy. Her ten pieces are\naccompanied
  by excerpts from her journal\, providing a vivid picture of\nwhen and whe
 re these images were created.  Roger Dellar is a\nprofessional artist who
  works from his home studio in Surrey\, England.\nHe visits the United Sta
 tes frequently\, and the Peninsula Gallery is\nhis only American venue. Ro
 ger’s art reflects his keen interest in\npeople\, their behavior\, and h
 ow the play of light transforms a\nsubject. His paintings capture everyday
  situations in public spaces\,\nusually done en plein air. For this exhibi
 tion\, Roger uses his\nimpressionistic style to express the mood and energ
 y of various\nEuropean countries.  ​Sebastian Di Mauro was born in Inni
 sfail\,\nAustralia\, and lives and works between Brisbane and Lewes. Since
  the\nlate 1980s\, he has held over 45 solo exhibitions and participated i
 n\nmore than 100 group shows across the globe. The pieces included in\nthi
 s collection explore the complex and contested identity of a nation\ntethe
 red to its colonial past. Through the lens of Australia's\ncontinued membe
 rship in the Commonwealth and allegiance to the British\nroyal family\, he
  interrogates the enduring structures of power and\ntradition that shape c
 ontemporary society. Through this series —\nwhich employs a monochromati
 c palette\, layered line work\, and written\nwords — Sebastian invites v
 iewers to contemplate the past’s\nenduring influence on the present and 
 the potential for reimagining a\nfuture untethered from inherited legacies
 . Carol Fastuca received an\nMFA in painting from Queens College in NY bef
 ore moving into teaching\nat various universities. After leaving the unive
 rsity system\, she\nstarted her own design business\, creating murals. Car
 ol’s paintings\nare normally inspired by the Pennsylvania landscape in h
 er backyard\,\nbut for this collection\, she expanded her visual world to 
 the open\nspaces of Italy. The aesthetics of each piece is dictated by the
 \nsounds\, languages\, smells\, and ambiance of that specific place. Light
 \nand shadow play a dominant role in each of her scenes. Her use of\nnatur
 alistic lighting evokes the feeling of basking in the warm glow\nof the Me
 diterranean sunshine.    Laura Hickman was born in Milford\,\nDelaware\,
  and grew up on Fifth Street in Bethany Beach. She attended\nHood College 
 in Frederick\, Maryland\, graduating with a B.A. in Art\,\nand received an
  M.F.A. from the University of Delaware in Printmaking\,\nPainting\, and D
 rawing. She taught for several years at the University\nof Maryland Easter
 n Shore and then at The Savannah College of Art and\nDesign. For “Travel
 ing Palette\,” Laura has created three large\npastel paintings that capt
 ure the seamless integration of architecture\nand nature in Italian landsc
 apes. Her keen knowledge of color theory\nis apparent in her ability to sh
 ow how the neutral colors of everyday\nobjects are actually executed with 
 a surprising blend of many vibrant\ncolors. Brian Murphy has a special app
 reciation for plein air\npainting\, California and French Impressionism\, 
 and the work of John\nSinger Sargent. His artistic creations have always b
 een inspired by\nhis travels. He and his wife own Murphy Montgomery Fine A
 rt Gallery\,\nand he teaches art classes at home and overseas. Brian’s w
 ork has\nfound its way into hundreds of private collections nationally and
 \ninternationally\, as well as corporate collections. For this\nexhibition
 \, Brian focused on the beauty of water. He showcases the\nwaterways of Ve
 nice and the city’s iconic gondolas\, the river\nflowing through Florenc
 e\, as well as the rocky shores of Kauai. His\npieces embrace the traditio
