DESCRIPTION:The Peninsula Gallery is pleased to welcome back the prestigiou
 s\nWashington Society of Landscape Painters for another juried\nexhibition
 . The show comprises 33 works from 24 artists\, showcasing a\nrange of art
 istic talent and skills.   The juried works include both\noil and waterc
 olor paintings and depict a variety of landscapes —\nfrom street scenes 
 to ocean waves\, floral arrangements\, and boating\ntrips. Some of the wor
 ks are presented with traditional techniques or\nare painted en plein air\
 , while others take a more modernist or\nimpressionistic approach. The sho
 w also includes some abstract pieces\nfor those with a more contemporary e
 ye. With such a range of images\,\nthis exhibition has something for every
  taste.  The Washington\nSociety of Landscape Painters is one of the olde
 st landscape painting\ngroups in the United State\, tracing traces its ori
 gins to 1913. The\nprimary focus of the society today is painting outdoors
  en plein air\nwith fellow members and guest artists\, enjoying their cama
 raderie and\nconstructively critiquing each other’s work. In addition to
  these\npaint-outs\, the society also promotes the advancement of landscap
 e\npainting through meetings\, exhibitions\, and field trips. The\norganiz
 ation is now 109 years old. As in 1913\, painting on location\ncontinues t
 o be the foundation on which its activities are based. The\nartists juried
