DESCRIPTION:The Rehoboth Beach Historical Society & Museum\, in partnership
  with\nthe Developing Artist Collaboration\, invites the public to a two-h
 our\nwriting workshop with award-winning author Alexs Pate in celebration\
 nof Juneteenth.\n\nIn this workshop\, Pate will guide participants through
  writing\nexercises exploring family and place — the themes at the heart
  of\nhis celebrated novel _West of Rehoboth_. Set in the early 1960s\, th
 e\nnovel tells the story of a young boy whose family summers in Rehoboth\n
 Beach’s historic African American community. Drawing on that same\nspiri
 t\, participants will use their own connections to family and\nplace as th
 e raw material for storytelling. The workshop is open to\nthe public and w
 riters of all levels. Participants are encouraged to\nbring their preferre
 d writing materials — a journal\, paper and pen\,\nlaptop\, or tablet.\n
