Can’t beat the location! The front desk folks were incredibly nice and welcoming. Rooms were clean and a decent size.

Would not recommend to friends and family. Nice location, easy walk out to the beach at it’s located at the end of the boardwalk away from noise and business. However, There was sand in our sheets when we turned them down for the night. Floors weren’t clean. Phone in room didn’t work, told the front desk and nothing was done. Shower is either very hot or cold, no way to regulate it. Parking is a nightmare. They have an underground garage but it’s for the condo members, the parking for hotel guests is very limited and has extremely small spots and concrete pillars making it nearly impossible to park anything mid to large size if you don’t get one of the few big spots. No breakfast of any kind, just a coffee dispenser machine in the lobby. For close to $800 for 2 nights, I expected better quality. Whomever their PR person, they did a great job with the photos. Our room and amenities look nothing like what we saw online.

First, I would like to thank my 3rd party booking agency (Capital One Venture Card) for saving the day.
My wife and I were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and wanted to spend a nice evening at the beach in Rehoboth. I booked a Ocean View "apartment" for this and couldn't wait to get down there and enjoy the area.
While checking in I was told "I see you booked through a 3rd party and if you would have booked directly through us you could have gotten 15% off." Felt like I was a kid in school getting a bit of a reprimand with the tone used, but whatever.
We get all checked in, get up to our room and there's no ocean view. We're staring at the balconies of all the other rooms they have, the parking garage and the parking lot where you check in. I go downstairs to say "hey we don't have and ocean view"' even showed my res confirmation. I got some spiel about how the rooms are in a block and blah blah. Yes, I know about the rooms blocks but we did not have an ocean view that I paid for.
I feel like checking in they should have said "hey we see you booked ocean view but unfortunately we don't have that for you." Maybe a little apology or some compensation would have been nice?
Thank goodness for my 3rd party booking because I cancelled immediately when I got back up to our room for a full refund, so the discount was 100%. What kills me is they thought I would just go back to our room and take what they gave us. Nope!
Luckily we live in Wilmington so it wasn't god awful not having to accept that the hotel decided that we weren't getting an ocean view room.
If you have a travel card, book through them so you don't have to put up with "yeah, this is what you get regardless of what you booked and a shrug."
Terrible. Thanks for making our wedding anniversary memorable Henlopen Oceanfront Hotel. We will never be back.
