JR's Seafood Shack

Stacy was pleasant and did a great job as our server. This is a cozy and casual restaurant with good food. Their crab dip was among the best I’ve ever had (I am from Maryland). The catfish po’boy is tender and crispy, and the dessert pies are excellent — flaky crust with rich filling. Going to a southern restaurant without ordering cheese grits would be unthinkable. The pimento cheese grits were outstanding as well. Perhaps the maple broccoli was lacking — it would have been nice to know that it was steamed/boiled (I thought it would be roasted). Overall had a great experience and would recommend!

Food was great. We started with fried pickles. I got the crab cake with corn salsa. It was delicious. My wife got the crab legs and our child had the smash burger. We didn't have to wait long to be seated and the food didn't take too long to come out despite it being busy.

Teri gives exemplary service. My partner and I first had Teri as our server, summer of 2025. And so when we returned this year we were very fortunate that she was our server again.
From start to a finish she created a great experience, made sure our food was served to our liking, and was super accommodating per usual. She’s got fantastic hospitality and is very friendly. Next time you are in the Fenwick, DE area head to JR’s and ask for Teri.
