Fantastic little hotel. Has a European feel to it. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels and muffins and one-push button pancake machine.
We booked two adjoining rooms and it was super convenient. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean and had basic supplies. Gym was minimal equipment, as expected. On site laundry requires Bluetooth app set up and Apple/Google pay. Lobby has a tiny convenience corner for snacks. Coffee and tea available all day long.
There is a bike trail right next to the hotel.
The manager and staff super helpful and very kind! Our family of 5 will be definitely coming back!

Tip for beach: go to the beach by 7am to enjoy more quiet beach time, parking is free until 10am, and after 10am the beach gets super packed, especially by the main street entrance.

The location was fantastic. Within walking distance of shopping and a cute little coffee shop truck. It's easy to get to from the highway.
Service was shockingly bad. The staff at breakfast was always very rude. I think there was 1 lady at the front desk that was warm and friendly.
Our biggest issue was getting service for our rooms. I booked 2 rooms and planned to stay Sunday through Saturday. We arrived Sunday without issue. On Monday, we went out all day and when we returned, housekeeping had cleaned our rooms as expected. Tuesday we returned after being gone all day and housekeeping had not come. No fresh towels or trash taken out. Wednesday we returned after being gone all day and noticed the same thing. We went to the front desk and spoke with a lady who apologized for our rooms being missed and said she would make sure our rooms were cleaned. We asked for new towels and trash bags as we were out of space in the trashcans. Thursday we returned after being gone all day again and our rooms were still not cleaned. At this point we had a giant pile of dirty towels and a pile of trash in our small room. We went to the desk again and told them we really needed someone to come to our room and get the towels and trash. We also had to ask for clean towels again. At this point, the general manager was the guy we talked to and he said we were on a list to get done. No apology. Friday...we again return from being gone all day and the room still did not get cleaned. Trash and laundry is piled up behind our door to the point we cant open it all the way. We spoke to the general manager again and said we were very disappointed that our rooms still haven't been cleaned. He was very short with us and raised his voice saying he had us wrote down and it was still to be done that day. I tried to explain to him that it had not been done all week and he kept cutting me off saying he had "50 check outs" that day and they were very busy. Someone did come to the room about 30 minutes later and said "what do you need?" We felt like we were a big inconvenience to all the staff there. My husband and I went back down friday evening to speak to the general manager. He, at that point, did apologize for what happened but said it was the first he has heard of the problem and he has had staffing issues and he is trying to get good people hired. We explained we would be leaving the next morning and the only time we actually had anyone in our room was the first day. He didn't really seem to care but provided an abundance of excuses. He said the next time we stay he would upgrade our rooms. We live in Illinois and never visit Delaware but did come this year to visit family. I do know, we will definitely not be staying here if we ever come back and would not recommend it to anyone in the future. We were very disappointed because we have stayed at Wyndham hotels in the past and had great experiences. This has nearly ruined it for us. I think if any ownership had been taken, it would have been different. When we asked what the general manager could do to help us make it right, he just offered us a discount on our future visit and a very small percentage off 1 night of our 1 week stay.

Overall, I would not recommend anyone stay here. The price was not worth the poor service provided. If you want to feel like an inconvenience and take out our own trash and laundry all week, please feel free to stay there. We will be picking a different chain next time.

*NOT PET FRIENDLY.*

I called and made my reservation by phone on June 8, where I specifically confirmed that the hotel was dog friendly. I explained that we would be traveling with our small, 14-pound mini poodle, who would be crated whenever we were away. The employee put me on hold to check with the manager before coming back and confirming that it would be fine. I was told there would be a $35 per night pet fee, so we booked our stay.

When we arrived on July 13, the front desk employee gave us a strange look as soon as we walked in. She asked when we had made our reservation, and I immediately knew something was wrong. She explained that they had recently changed their pet policy and no longer allowed dogs.

We had already driven three hours to get there. Because of the unexpected policy change, we had to drive three hours back home, where we were thankfully able to get a family member to watch our dog, and then drive another three hours back to the hotel. What should have been a three-hour trip turned into a nine-hour day, costing us half of our first vacation day. While we're grateful we had family who could help, this situation could have been avoided if we had been notified about the policy change before our arrival.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of our issues. Between 3:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., the guests above us were yelling, arguing, moving furniture, stomping, and constantly jolting us awake. We later learned we weren't the only guests who complained to the front desk, but the noise continued. We eventually had to call the police ourselves before things finally quieted down.

The room itself was also disappointing. It was dusty, and the bathroom floor was so dirty that we went out and bought flip-flops just so we could shower. I wish I had taken a picture of the bathroom floor because it was that bad.

Overall, this was an extremely disappointing stay. Between the unexpected pet policy change, losing half a vacation day, the overnight noise, and the cleanliness issues, we spent as much time away from the hotel as possible. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.
