Spa on Hollywood

Usually Marriott properties are safe bets for a good experience. But when you reserve a room at $800 per night (average) months in advance and you get an accessible room with funky shower controls, half a balcony over the back street, over looking the hotel dumpsters and down an alley across the street … I wouldn’t expect to pay the same price as my son with beachfront rooms. Not a great experience!

This hotel is a lot nicer than most residence Inns. More of a 4 star hotel. We were upgraded to the boardwalk room which was awesome & the room was big. Pool & lobby were nice. Beach is crowded but boardwalk is nicer than Ocean City. Better food options/ shopping. Very kid friendly.

We have stayed here for extended summer trips more than once, and I have to leave a review because the staff is just unmatched. Everyone who works here is so helpful, kind, understanding and patient. The housekeeping staff is outstanding, just the most accommodating and kind team. On top of the perfect beachfront and charming family beach town of Bethany Beach, the hotel’s daily events for kids have become core memories for our kids. Cascading Carlos didn’t just teach our kids how to juggle, he spent three hours with our kids and others teaching them all kinds of skills and was the kindest, most patient, entertaining guy with a true passion for teaching kids how to do his tricks. Another day, there was a Merman at the pool who was rolled in on a luggage trolley who sat in the pool, read them a book about ocean conservation and then talked to and entertained the kids for two hours. They loved it! The staff at breakfast tirelessly works for a deluge of guests. They never stop, constantly bussing tables, restocking silverware, food, coffee, water… They are so hardworking and it’s a tough shift! The front desk has so much thrown at them, but they handle it all with patience and grace. The only area of improvement I have is to ensure each guest has a parking spot in the high season. We did get a spot in the hotel garage after a 30-minute wait upon arrival, but it was the Employee of the Month spot so we had to look around the garage the next morning for a spot to move our car.
