My Experience at Summer Place Hotel
I want to share my experience so that other travelers can make an informed decision before booking. I arrived at the hotel on July 31, 2026, and after seeing the room in person, I was very disappointed with its condition. The room did not look as I expected, and I did not feel comfortable staying there, so I decided not to use the room and left.
I was also very disappointed with the way I was treated at the front desk. The owner, who was at the reception desk, was rude and unprofessional when I explained my concerns about the room. I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously.
What concerned me the most was that, even though I did not stay in the room, the hotel would not allow me to cancel without charging the full cancellation fee of $222.48. Booking.com also informed me that the property refused to make an exception.
My recommendation is to carefully read the most recent reviews and look at photos posted by other guests before booking. Based on my experience, I would not stay at this hotel again. I am sharing this review so that other travelers can be aware of my experience before making a reservation.

DONT STAY HERE!! The owner is super rude! He doesn’t like to explain himself more then once… the shower doesn’t get hot even though he claims to have a huge reserve tank.. and that’s just the beginning! The window blind didn’t close fully! The microwave had a left over chicken bag in it, the smell was horrible! The air conditioners had mold where the air blows out! But owner claims they are serviced and clean regularly! I don’t know how this place is in business! It’s worth a couple extra bucks to go somewhere else. Health is way more important than saving a dime to stay here!!

It's a great place to stay close to the beach and the gay bars. An inexpensive option in town to lay your head after heavy drinking at the gay bars. Did not see anyone on check in or check out. Very close to Aqua and Blue Moon. Had dinner at Ava's across the street. That was really good pizza!
