This is an old-fashioned hotel. I enjoyed staying here alot. It was very clean. THe staff was very accomodating. The pool was excellent, with nice views. There were common areas both inside and outside ones on each floor. It was well located, with a 5 minute walk into the historic district. The bay beach was about a 10 minute walk away but we did not try it since we have too much beach gear and it was very hot. A bike trail entrance is right nearby. We are not great bikers so by the time we reached the state park trails, we had to turn back.
I would stay here again.

Have stayed here many times. Even though the location can't be beat, just don't think I can do it anymore. Sorely in need of updates.

Pros: Location, location, location
Nice staff
Rooms have balconies
Has a pool
Cons: Rooms badly need updated
Uncomfortable beds

Disappointed housekeeping didn't come at all one day. Elevator was out of commission the day we left, had to cart our luggage down the stairwell from the third floor. Understand these things happen, though.

Even if they would just replace the flooring and bedding, it would make a huge difference. The nicest part of the room was the ceiling.

We used to live staying here, old school beach hotel and the location is perfect. But the rooms have gone downhill (water not draining in the bathroom, sink wasn't clean), just run down.

We also overheard the housekeeping staff in the hallway discussing that they went in our room "just to look around" the previous day despite the DO NOT DISTURB sign. We're conscientious and reuse towels, etc and don't need service. Now we don't trust that our wishes are being respected.

We won't be back......
