The Governor's Bed and Breakfast

Bill and Debbie truly love their job. They make for the best of hosts and I promise you’ll enjoy your experience. The morning breakfasts were great and the couple made sure we were taken care of by supplying us beach towels and umbrellas during the rainy days! Great spot, great location, even better location!

This is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you love historic homes. Beautifully restored home, delicious breakfast, comfortable beds, and wonderful hosts. Bill and Debbie were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area - their tips on how to get around that area and what to see were invaluable. We would definitely stay here again - just lovely people and a lovely home.

Went to Milton for a birthday excursion to the Dogfish Head brewery. The Govenor's was the perfect place to stay in that it was an easy (and pleasant) walk to and from the brewery. Downtown Milton is even closer, where there are some great dinner options. Breakfast at the Govenor's was excellent: home cooked, hot and cold dishes, great coffee. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Our room had a nice mini fridge that was ideal for our "souvenirs" from Dogfish. The owners were extremely kind and helpful when it came to dinner suggestions. The house itself is a charming piece of history, and Milton is a very nice town. If you're planning on a trip to Dogfish, or even just to this part of DE (it's not too far to the beach), this should be your first choice for accommodation in terms of quality and convenience. I plan on making a return trip to Dogfish with my family, and we'll certainly be staying at The Govenor's if it's not booked up!
