The INN At Canal Square

We’ve stayed here a few years and mostly had a very good experience. We love being able to roll into town and leave the car to just walk and bike around. In the past we’ve brought our bikes up to our rooms just like every other hotel I’ve ever been to. This year the desk was adamant that we could not bring them inside and the only storage they could offer was a low quality outdoor rack. Fine for your beach cruiser but I’d never leave my nice bikes out like that overnight. It really threw a wrench in our plans and was surprising in a bike town like Lewis. Dunno what people do when they come in to town for an event. If we had ridden to Lewis we’d have been totally SOL since they offered us no usable solution.

After about 10 attempts to stay here (this location books quickly in season) we finally reserved a room in early February. This is a very centrally located hotel for the main Lewes "downtown" (essentially 2 blocks) shopping and dining area and convenient to the state park as well as the shopping centers. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Our room was clean and bright with everything functioning. We had a very nice European style breakfast included in the price of our room. We will stay here again when the opportunity presents itself.

Quaint and extremely convenient to little shops and places to eat in Lewes. We literally walked to a nearby pavilion to listen to a live band after dinner. The hotel itself had the feel of old, classic, beach. There were beautiful fresh flowers and the staff were friendly and professional. The room itself (we reserved the last available) was a nice size, corner - very clean. It could have easily accommodated a king bed, but had a queen in it. That being said, the bed was very comfortable with good pillows and bedding - very important to us. It had an interior cooling unit which I normally do not prefer, but this one was fairly quiet and did not distract. The TV was in a cabinet and quite small, but since we were not there to watch TV, we didn't care. Our friends were in a different room with a king bed, big TV, and nice balcony - we would try to reserve that room type for a future, long trip. The bathroom was traditional without issue. The morning breakfast appeared to offer what we would enjoy, but since we had breakfast plans elsewhere, we did not partake. Overall, we liked this hotel and would return.
